Volunteer/Employee Requirements for Working with Minors and Vulnerable Adults
We must provide safe environments for all minors and Vulnerable Adults. ALL adults who work with minors and vulnerable adults must be held to a code of conduct that is Christ-centered and professional. The Safe Environment Program implemented by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Baton Rouge requires us to evaluate the background of all paid personnel and volunteers whose duties include ongoing, unsupervised contact with minors and vulnerable adults.
Any adult (18 and older) wanting to volunteer with minors and vulnerable adults or become an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion must fulfill the following requirements as mandated by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and the Diocese of Baton Rouge.
Email Sandra Colomb to request the signup code for new accounts.
Complete all paperwork and The Safe and Sacred Training at least 3 weeks prior to your anticipated ministry event.
Sandra Colomb will be notified by email when you have completed your training and your application has been approved.
If you do not hear from your ministry leader within a week of submitting your paperwork and completing your training, contact them to make sure everything was received and that you are cleared to begin participating in the ministry.
