Katie LaFontHello! We are currently enrolling for our 2025-2026 academic school year. I look forward to meeting our new families! I am very passionate about early childhood education and hope to instill a love of learning in all our students both academically and spiritually.
Here is a little about me: I was born and raised in Lafayette, LA. I attended UL Lafayette and graduated in May 2007, with a B.A. of Science, in Hospitality Management. After marrying, my husband Matthew in 2013,
I decided to convert my degree into a teaching certification through UL Lafayette's alternative certification program, in Early Childhood Education.
After becoming certified in 2016, I began working in Ascension Parish Schools teaching Pre-K 4. In 2019, I wanted more time with my two young children. My goal was to find a place where they could attend and I could teach, and that is when I found St. Patrick Preschool. During my first year,
I had a delightful time teaching alongside an amazing staff and working with a wonderful group of students. As a bonus, being across the hallway from my own children has been a great blessing.
At St. Patrick, we have a "hidden gem" right behind our church. That gem is our half day pre-school. We provide quality education in a faith-filled environment in order to achieve early success and school readiness for all children. We learn a lot and have a blast.
