KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS LOUISIANA STATE COUNCIL
The Catholic Youth Leadership Award (CYLA) was established in 1959 by the Louisiana State Council and recognizes Catholic high school senior boys and girls in the areas of spiritual, scholastic, civic, athletic and general achievement. Awards are provided to one boy and one girl at the local Council, Diocesan and State levels. Council awards are $500 each, Diocesan awards are $1000 for each, and State awards are $5000 for 1st place, $3000 for 2nd place and $2000 for 3rd place.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS ST. PATRICK COUNCIL 8601
THE CYLA PROCESS:
- THE DEADLINE FOR APPLICANTS TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION IS JANUARY 25, 2024
- Catholic high school seniors must complete an online CYLA application and be sponsored by a local Knights of Columbus Council.
- The local Council selects one boy and one girl winner and then sends their application to the Diocesan Administrator to compete on a Diocesan level.
- Each Diocesan boy and girl winner is then provided a chance to participate in the State CYLA finals.
