Thank you for your interest in the Sacrament of Baptism at St. Patrick Church. Whether you are awaiting the birth of your child, already have a newborn, or have a child who is several months old, we are happy to assist you. Parents serve as the first and most influential teachers of your child’s faith and other things. The Catechism of the Catholic Church reminds us that baptism “is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other sacraments” (1213).
Before parents take on the responsibility of raising their children in the faith, the church seeks to help them understand the meaning of baptism and deepen their own embrace of the Christian way of life. Therefore, parents and godparents are required to attend a baptism seminar. We are pleased to offer the seminars to parents of young children and infants, godparents and for those who will be a godparent at another church. For more information about baptism, please contact Melissa Harshbarger, at the parish office, 753-5750 or by email at [email protected]. You may also register for a baptism seminar or fill out the baptismal preparation information form by clicking the buttons below.
The baptism preparation deadline is one month prior to the baptism date. All materials must be received and seminars completed before a baptism can be confirmed.
