Expecting parents must contact the Parish Office (753-5750) early in pregnancy to initiate processing for the sacrament of Baptism.

Process for parishioners seeking the sacrament of Baptism for children less than 7 years of age:

1.  Initial contact with Formation Secretary, Yvette Caillouet at the parish office.

2.  Parental Baptismal Interview with The Director of Religious Education, Lisa Trahan.

3. Completion of a Baptismal Seminar by parents and godparents.

4. Parents must contact the Formation Secretary following the seminar to affirm their decision to request Baptism.

5. Signed and returned Sponsor Affidavit form.

6. Once all above steps are completed, a written confirmation of date/time will be sent to the parents.
 

Requirements for parents and godparents:

1. One parent must be a practicing Catholic*

2. At least one godparent must be a fully initiated, practicing Catholic*

 
* Catholic is defined as an adult 16 years or older who has received the sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation. The adult must also be practicing his/her faith weekly at Sunday Liturgy.



In order for a child to begin preparation for the sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist, the following requirements must be met:

The child’s family must be a registered member of St Patrick Parish.

The child must have completed the First and Second grades of Religious Education either through a Parish School of Religion of a Catholic school and currently be enrolled in Second grade.

For a child beyond second grade, they are to request sacramental preparation through RCIC.

Requirements of the parents and student during the preparation:

Weekly attendance at Sunday Mass.

Parents must take responsibility as the child’s “Primary Catechetical Teacher” and attend all parental sessions. 

The child must attend all preparation classes and the retreat scheduled for each sacrament.

Parents must serve on at least one of the sacramental retreats for Reconciliation and Eucharist.


Requirements for registration:

1. The student must be member of a family registered with St Patrick Parish.

2. The student must have completed a minimum of  9 years of Religious Education through a Parish School of Religion a  Catholic school and be entering at least the 10th grade at a Catholic High School.

 
Requirements of Students and Parents during the preparation:

1. Students must participate weekly in Sunday Mass.

2. Students must attend all group sessions for Cycle I and Cycle II

3. Students must enroll and participate in 2 Church ministries during         preparation.

4. Students must participate in the group service projects required in Cycle I and Cycle II.

5. Students must attend the Cycle II retreat.

6. Parents must attend a parental session scheduled. 

7. Students must select an eligible sponsor.
